"[...] the concert by pianist Eveliina Kytömäki and cellist Juho Laitinen was an ideal display of original and stylish programming. [...in Einar Englund's sonata] the balance was excellent and the rhythms were tightly synchronized. In Morton Feldman's Intersection 4 Laitinen's broad experience in modern music was highlighted. Clearly the secrets of the work's graphic notation had been studied profoundly. Elliott Carter's sonata concluded the fine concert. The piece is extremely challenging, and the duo playing of Ms. Kytömäki and Mr. Laitinen reached its peak in the overwhelming climax of the sonata."

- Matti Lehtonen, Turun sanomat, 17 Mar 2006

"... cellist Juho Laitinen made a serious impression in a fine series of recitals last year."

- Steve Smith, TimeOut New York, Jan 12 2006

"... [in Song of Seili ] Juho Laitinen plays one of the most important and atmospheric parts in the whole performance"

- Henrik Jansson, Vasabladet, 4 Feb 2004

"[...] Laitinen introduces himself at the very beginning of the record [Winter's Jazz Workshop: Saknad] and is featured delightfully in the title track, where cello and bass go through a long dialogue."

- Pentti Ronkanen, Suomijazz, 29 Mar 2004

"[...] the improvised sounds of Juho Laitinen took off like swans, at times grunting and supporting, taking the listener on a journey. Without his wonderful playing the matinee [poetry concert At the pond ] would have remained a fluent reading with regular rhythm."

- Antero Marjakangas, Kymen sanomat, 6 Sep 2000
